Happy Mother's Day 2016

Yet another Mother's Day is upon us and as I reflect on my own motherhood my thoughts naturally go to my own mother. My heart swells with joy as to how she is always the wing beneath my wings. Even during those turbulent years of raising me.

My mother may not have liked my choices or behavior at times, but what always remained was her steadfast unconditional love. For a mother to state her disappointment in bad choices and behavior is not saying she doesn't love you, it's saying she doesn't approve. First and foremost a mother's job is in guidance and love, not being your best friend while she is raising you. That hopefully comes later in your adulthood.

I often talk to my girlfriends that we either repel or absorb our upbringing. For me, I'm glad I am the later!

Thank you mom (Lorraine) for teaching me unconditional love and I know it reflects in how I am raising my own daughters.

Wishing all the mother's out there I very happy Mother's Day and if you are without your own mother, my thoughts and prayers go out to you.

God Bless!

  4. Mother's Day can be a little hard these days. We used to have both our mothers together to share the time with us, but now they've gone, so there are two very large empty spaces at our celebrations. Thanks for the Mother's Day love.
