This Thanksgiving, let those of us who have much and those who have little gather at the welcoming table of the Lord. 

At this blessed feast, may rich and poor alike remember that we are called to serve on another and to walk together in God's gracious world. 

With thankful hearts, we praise our God who like a loving parent denies us no good thing.

Happy Thanksgiving - #LoveandGratitude

I'm a day early, since I do not plan on being on social media during the Thanksgiving weekend, but rather to savor each and every moment and to enjoy the company of friends and family in realtime.  

For many years now I've been making a concerted effort to remain #thankful everyday and to repel the negativity of others, especially within social media. We have a choice in this life, be sucked down the dark hole of despair or to knock out the darkness and live in the glorious light of a positive attitude. 

I #journal daily, which I find helpful to wash away my fears and to uncover the #blessings that abound. I urge you to try journaling. Your words are for your eyes only, hence making it a safe haven to explore your joys and sorrows. It's quite therapeutic! 

My wish for you and your families today and beyond, is to be true to yourself and to remain #thankful of the many #blessings that the good Lord has bestowed upon you.

Happy Thanksgiving - Be #Thankful

Every year as more and more retailers are opening up earlier than ever on Thanksgiving, I look forward to the P.C. Richard & Sons advertisement they publish in many newspapers across the nation at this time of the year.

I applaud them... 

Don't shop on Thanksgiving. Don't fret, the almighty sales will be there long past Thanksgiving day!

Celebrate Thanksgiving with Gratitude

Since I began blogging in 2007 my tradition for Thanksgiving is to share a prayer and as I reflect on the last year I'd like to share my gratitude of my blessings. 

I'm grateful for…

My husband Tom and daughter's Nicole and Hayley - your unconditional love and support from day one is a true blessing and I love you all up the stars and beyond.

My family and friends - from childhood and now adulthood the adventure continues, I'm honored to be part of each of your lives.

My health and that of my family and friends. Thoughts and prayers continue for all. 

My critique partners, Karin and Marilyn - your guidance has been instrumental in my success and I look forward to our publication journeys.

My publisher, Lynda Burch of Guardian Angel Publishing  and fellow "Angels" - the family atmosphere is an honor to be part of.

My fellow writing friends, many of you I have not met in person, but you all hold a special place in my heart. The exchange of ideas is constant source of encouragement.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

O God, we thank you for this earth, our home;

For the wide sky and the blessed sun,

For the salt sea and the running water,

For the everlasting hills

And the never-resting winds,

For trees and the common grass underfoot.

We thank you for our senses

By which we hear the songs of birds,

And see the splendor of the summer fields,

And taste of the autumn fruits,

And rejoice in the feel of the snow,

And smell the breath of the spring.

Grant us a heart wide open to all this beauty;

And save our souls from being so blind

That we pass unseeing

When even the common thornbush

Is aflame with your glory,

O God our creator,

Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

For Appreciation of Each Other

We thank you, Father, for the gift of Jesus your Son

who came to our earth and lived in a simple home.

We have a greater appreciation of the value and dignity

of the human family because he loved and was loved

within its shelter. Bless us this day; may we grow in love

for each other in our family and so give thanks to you

"Prayer at Harvest and Thanksgiving:"




O God, source and giver of all things,

You manifest your infinite majesty, power and goodness

In the earth about us:

We give you honor and glory.

For the sun and the rain,

For the manifold fruits of our fields:

For the increase of our herds and flocks,

We thank you.

For the enrichment of our souls with divine grace,

We are grateful.



Supreme Lord of the harvest,

Graciously accept us and the fruits of our toil,

In union with Jesus, your Son,

As atonement for our sins,

For the growth of your Church,

For peace and love in our homes,

Happy Thanksgiving

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Lord, so often times, as any other day

When we sit down to our meal and pray

We hurry along and make fast the blessing

Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing

We're slaves to the olfactory overload

We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold

But Lord, I'd like to take a few minute more

To really give thanks to what I'm thankful for

For my family, my health, a nice soft bed

My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head

I'm thankful right now to be surrounded by those

Whose lives touch me more than they'll ever possibly know

Thankful Lord, that You've blessed me beyond measure

Thankful that in my heart lives life's greatest treasure

That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place

And I'm ever so grateful for Your unending grace

So please, heavenly Father, bless this food You've provided

And bless each and every person invited
