Memorial Day Prayer

On this Memorial Day, we pray for those 

who courageously laid down their lives 

for the cause of freedom. 

May the examples of their sacrifice inspire in us 

the selfless love of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. 

Bless the families of our fallen troops, 

and fill their homes and their lives 

with Your strength and peace.

Memorial Day Prayer

On this Memorial Day, we pray for those who courageously laid down their lives for the cause of freedom.  

May the examples of their sacrifice inspire in us the selfless love of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Bless the families of our fallen troops, and fill their homes and their lives with Your strength and peace.

In union with people of goodwill of every nation, embolden us to answer the call to work for peace and justice, and thus, seek an end to violence and conflict around the globe.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Happy Memorial Day

As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please hold our servicemen and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and your presence as they stand in the gap for our protection.

We also remember the families of our troops. We ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes, and we pray your peace, provision, and strength will fill their lives.

May the members of our armed forces be supplied with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task. Let our military brothers and sisters feel our love and support.

In the name of Jesus. Amen.

A Memorial Day Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Freedom Is Not Free

I watched the flag pass by one day.

It fluttered in the breeze.

A young Marine saluted it,

and then he stood at ease.

I looked at him in uniform

So young, so tall, so proud,

He'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him

Had fallen through the years.

How many died on foreign soil?

How many mothers' tears?

How many pilots' planes shot down?

How many died at sea?

How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?

No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of TAPS one night,

When everything was still

I listened to the bugler play

And felt a sudden chill.

I wondered just how many times

That TAPS had meant "Amen,"

When a flag had draped a coffin

Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,

Of the mothers and the wives,

Of fathers, sons and husbands

With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard

At the bottom of the sea

Of unmarked graves in Arlington.

No, freedom isn't free.

Memorial Day

It is the

VETERAN,

not the preacher,

who has given us freedom of religion.

It is

the VETERAN,

not the reporter,

who has given us freedom of the press.

It is

the VETERAN,

not the poet,

who has given us freedom of speech.

It is

the VETERAN,

not the campus organizer,

who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is

the VETERAN,

not the lawyer,

who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is

the VETERAN,

not the politician,

Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the

VETERAN who

salutes the Flag,

It is

the

VETERAN

who serves

under the Flag,

We can be very

proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.

God Bless them all!!!

Makes you proud to be an AMERICAN!!!!

Soldier's Prayer
Hearts are heavy now, dear Lord For WAR is looming there.

Our prayers are calling out to you, Our thoughts too much to bear.

Be with our loved ones--THEY NEED YOU.

Guide them, lead them, see them through.

Bless our leader, for we know, He asks Your blessings, and needs them so.

Protect the innocent, shield their lives, As bombs and missiles streak the skies.

Open our hearts and fill us with grace, Guard our loved ones in that place.

This I say, in earnest prayer, THANK YOU LORD I know YOU'RE there.

So brief, but God knows our hearts and feels the pain for all of us.

Our military, our president, we who wait at home and those innocents whose lives are in harms way too.

I can barely watch the news, but am drawn to it all the same.

This prayer is on my lips and in my heart,almost every minute.

GOD BLESS AMERICA, and all of your children, wherever they are.

WHEN A SOLDIER COMES HOME

WHEN A SOLDIER COMES HOME

When a soldier comes home, he finds it hard....

..to listen to his son whine about being bored.

...to keep a straight face when people complain about potholes.

...to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work.

...to be understanding when a co-worker complains about a bad night's sleep.

...to be silent when people pray to God for a new car.

...to control his panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower.

...to be compassionate when a businessman expresses a fear of flying.

...to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids off to summer camp.

...to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather.

...to control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his coffee being cold.

...to remain calm when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog.

...to be civil to people who complain about their jobs.

...to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year.

...to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house.

The only thing harder than being a Soldier...Is loving one.

A Soldier's Wish

Let my sacrifice be not in van. What I ask of you is this...

Cherish your freedom each and every day.

Speak freely but listen, too.

Have a dream and see it through.

Lift others up not just by words, but actions.

Be not quick to complain but first to make change.

Live with honor in all that you do.

Give your children and the world a future.

Show love when it is least expected.

Always let hope be your guide.

And live for those who sacrificed to make it all possible.
