Do
you recall a time when someone said they were proud of you? How did it make you
feel? Did you stand a wee bit taller? I know for myself the memory of my
parents stating they were proud of me made me want to do better each day. Have
you ever taken it one step further and thought what it means to be a proud
American? As American citizens we live in a democracy where we have freedom of
speech and religion, the right to our own opinion, freedom to choose where we
want to live and work, and the opportunity for an education. These freedoms do
not just come along without sacrifice. The United States military continually
serves and protects the American citizens from communist and terrorist beliefs
allowing us to live the American dream of freedom for all.
