Don't shop on Thanksgiving. Don't fret, the almighty sales will be there long past Thanksgiving day!

DeleteWe always go to Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving when I spend it with my family. When I spend it with my in-laws, it's an at-home Thanksgiving. Now I feel bad, but the employees always tell us at Cracker Barrel that they have the option to work in short shifts to spread it around so everyone gets to spend at least half of the day with their families? One server told me she makes so much in tips on T-giving, she volunteers to work a double.
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked at the movie theater as a teenager, we had to work Christmas Day (one of the busiest days of the year). We were given the option of working either Christmas Eve, Christmas early afternoon, or Christmas night. I chose Christmas early afternoon and there were only 2 of us there. It was actually kind of fun because NOBODY goes to the movies on Christmas until nighttime, then it's slammed. So I got the good end of that deal. You wouldn't believe how many people go to the movies on both Thanksgiving night and Christmas night...

DeleteI'm thankful to God every day for my house, his saving me, and my beautiful bunny lady, Deborah. My family, such as it is, is scattered all over the place. During Canadian Thanksgiving Day in October, I spent the day enjoying God's providence and lying on the kitchen floor while petting Deborah. She loves that so much and I love the way she closes her chocolate almond eyes in pure pleasure.
