From generation to generation statements may take on their own meanings for each generation to interpret. What is 6-year-old JT to do when he takes each statement by his grandparents literally and miscommunication ensues at a hysterical level?

Politeness always at the top of his list to impress his grandparents, JT is determined to stay out of trouble and does what they say no matter what. At times Grandma’s apparent frustration with JT bothers him until a little birdie clears it all up with Grandpa.

Nancy Sharpe’s stroll down memory lane of old sayings through her whimsical storytelling will have the reader laughing their head off (no not literally), opening up the perfect opportunity to talk with our young children of our fond childhood memories.

  2. This sounds like a really fun story. I remember my grandparents had lots of little sayings, that I was unsure of too.

  3. Super review, Donna. This is a fun story, and I recommend it for young readers who might come up with some unique saying of their own and also for older readers who will chuckle at the way a kid interprets the things we say.

    Congrats, Nancy.

  8. Hi Kristi, thanks. It was a really fun story to write and both kids and adults seem to enjoy it :)

Thanks Bev, it is so easy for any age to misunderstand what someone is trying to communicate kids have their "own language" too, lol.

Hi Nichole, grandparents do have a very special relationship with kids and I think there are a lot of fond memories that should be celebrated - JT may not realize it now...but that's what he's doing :)

Beth, thank you so much - I have had a blast! I've really enjoyed the tour and all the wonderful hosts and visitors.

Hi Susanne, yes! Ginger is definitely to be commended for her wonderful illustrations. She is an absolute joy - I hope I get to work with her again soon.

Hi Margot! Thanks so much for stopping. This book has been so much fun - to write, the tour, and reading it with kids - lots and lots of giggles and smiles!

Donna thank you again for such a wonderful review. I really appreciate you hosting me.
