Thanks for visiting with me today. As mentioned in my August newsletter, Write What Inspires You! I shared the latest news both personally and professionally from my life...
"July flew by as quick as ever. My oldest daughter Nicole, attended the Fashion Institute of Technology Summer Live program in Fashion Merchandising for three weeks and enjoyed every second. My youngest daughter Hayley continued onward through the High School Summer League Basketball program and they finished up at Villanova for a four day high school camp. The experience was quite rewarding. As for myself, illustrator K.C. Snider has completed her amazing illustrations for Powder Monkey...and illustrator Julie Hammond has completed her marvelous illustrations for Hockey Agony...can't wait to see the galley's! I'll keep you posted as things progress."
I'd be delighted to hear about what's going on in your life both personally and professionally.
I look forward to your updates!
All the best!

Hey, Donna. I'm still busy marketing my YA Victoria and the Ghost. I have a booksigning in Burkburnett, Tx. 8/23 & my publisher, 4RV, arranged one in Topeka, KS on 9/15. I'm also working hard on a 365 daily devotion book for compulsive overeaters that's due to the publisher by 8/27, so I'm busy, busy, but love it. God is so good.
ReplyDeleteHi Janet,
DeleteBook marketing is an every day effort...baby steps compile into huge leaps. Best wishes for your book signings...how exciting! Double congratulations on your 365 daily devotion book!
All the best,
Donna

ReplyDeleteHey Donna, I've been studying hard this summer. I'm taking the Best Seller Blueprint Program with Jack Canfield and Steve Harrison. Learning a lot of things, and stuffing too much into this tiny brain of mine, but hey, what doesn't fall out, I'll keep! Happy writing everyone!
ReplyDeleteSusan,
DeleteGood for you! I'd be interested in hearing your feedback on the Best Seller Blueprint Program. Kudos to you for taking your learning process to the next level.
All the best,
Donna
Donna, my tween/YA sci fi ebook, "Relocated," was released by MuseItUp publishing at the end of July, and I self-published the 31 poems that go with the book, "Sand in the Desert," through CreateSpace. Eight of the poems appear in the book. I haven't gotten as far down my list of "things I need to do to publicize the book" as I'd like {shudder}.
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy,
DeletePhew! You've been busy. What exciting books you have out. Congratulations! The Book Marketing To Do list is certainly never ending. Baby steps...
All the best,
Donna
Hi, Donna,
ReplyDeleteQuick update: I co-taught (along with Deb Wayshak, editor at Candlewick), an all-day workshop at the Orlando SCBWI Mid-Year SCBWI Conference in Orlando in June and have just returned from St. Louis, having done much the same thing. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the third Bella and Britt book, Bella Saves the Beach, (Guardian Angel Publishing). I'm finishing an mg novel, Lost on the Skeleton Coast--a fun exercise and a new genre for me! The summer has flown!
Hi Nancy,
DeleteYour years of teaching experience has certainly paid off in your writing career. Kudos on your forthcoming book and love the title of your mg novel!
Congratulations! Absolutely exciting!
All the best,
Donna
Hi Donna, I joined a PB Crit group and a MG/YA Crit group, with books in both areas! Wrote some reviews, worked on my three stories and MG novel. Waiting for my first PB to come out from GAP. Our summer flew by - Back to school Monday.
